Hope and Healing After Suicide (Guide)

Hope and Healing After Suicide--A Practical Guide for People Who Have Lost Someone to Suicide in Ontario is a modified version of Alberta's Hope and Healing: A Practical Guide for Survivors of Suicide--developed to provide practical advice to individuals in Alberta who have experienced the loss and grief associated with suicide.

Adapted by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), this Ontario version largely follows the structure of the original guide from Alberta and includes much of the same information, but with appropriate adjustments for Ontario. In this adaptation, CAMH took additional steps to enhance the content on mental health and grieving issues. They also provided more detailed guidance on the practical steps that need to be taken when a family member passes away. Furthermore, CAMH included a wider range of resources such as organizations (most specific to Ontario), books, and websites that survivors of suicide may find helpful.
