Finding Support After a Suicide Loss--Bereavement Support Groups

Finding a Grief Support Group

Connecting with others who understand suicide loss can ease some of the isolation and help you feel less alone. Suicide bereavement support groups are a helpful resource to meet and talk with others who understand your grief journey. In addition to offering emotional comfort, they help those who lost someone to suicide regain a sense of stability and confidence in daily life. Guided by trained facilitators, sessions often include:

  • Open conversations about loss, guilt, and stigma
  • Education about the grief process and coping after suicide
  • Tools for managing painful emotions and finding moments of relief
  • Opportunities to honour loved ones and celebrate their lives
  • Practical guidance toward professional support, if desired.

Below are support groups and communities that offer spaces to share your story, honour your person, and find understanding from people who “get it.”
